Three-month character memory
Each extracted character memory expires three calendar months after its creation. Correcting a memory does not restart that clock. Expired memories are excluded immediately from retrieval and the dashboard; daily cleanup removes expired rows within 24 hours. Memories can be pruned earlier when configurable capacity is reached. This is not permanent or unlimited storage.
Conversation history is separate
Saved conversations and their compact story summaries remain until you delete them or your account. They are not automatically deleted after three months. Clearing character memories does not erase facts from saved chats: continuing those chats can still use their history, and repeating facts can create new memories. Delete source conversations too when you want that history removed.
Your control
Memories are AI-generated summaries and can be inaccurate. Inspect, correct, delete or disable them globally or per character in Settings. Disabling prevents future retrieval and extraction, not storage of chat history. Preferred names come from your profile separately. Data remains private per user and character.
